Poets Eve Ott and Maril Crabtree will read their work at South Branch Library in Kansas City, Kansas, on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. The reading will be followed by an open mic. Both authors will bring books for sale. The library is located at 3104 Strong, Kansas City, Kansas.
Maril Crabtree grew up in Memphis and New Orleans but calls the Midwest home. Her most recent book is Fireflies in the Gathering Dark, recipient of the Kansas Notable Books award and a Thorpe Menn Literary Excellence Award finalist. Maril served as poetry editor for Kansas City Voices and is currently a contributing editor to Heartland: Poems of Love, Resistance and Solidarity. Her work has appeared in Literary Mama, I-70 Review, Spank the Carp, Main Street Rag, and others.
Eve Ott loves Kansas City's vibrant and varied writing community. Her poetry and fiction appear regularly in literary journals and anthologies. Her full length collection Album from the Silent Generation was released a few years ago by Aldrich Press and her chapbook On the Jefferson Line was published last year by Prolific Press.
